Digitization, Integration and Preservationof Technical and Historical Information:The Case of INTA, the National Institute for AerospaceTechnique of Spain

During the last two years the INTA - National Institute for Aero-space Technique - library has been improving different areas related to theinformation management processes, such as those related to cataloguing, dis-semination of technical information, centralization at the Library of all relevantdocuments and information applicable to scientific research within our organi-zation, implementation of library web services, etc. As part of these processesof modernization of services that the INTA Library is carrying out, a project ofdigitization of both technical documentation and historical records of the Insti-tute has been defined. The goal is to achieve the total digitization of technicaldocuments and historical papers through the year 2006, and provide access forthe resulting electronic collection to the Spanish aerospace community.
