In recent projects of space satellite development, we are strongly required to perform more detailed and thorough system safety management as well as reliability design and quality control. We have achieved the requirements of high reliability and long mission life with reliability design and process control during development. On the other hand, longer mission life and higher performance requirements in recent projects make a satellite larger and higher-energy. Handling high energy equipments like batteries and pressure vessels and larger volume of hazardous materials like gun powder, fuel and oxidizer, these latent hazards evidently increase in comparison with former projects. Therefore there are various discussions regarding what we identify as hazards and how we deal with them during projects unlike before. In this paper, we introduce our back ground including worker's mindset and occupational safety statistics. And we explain traditional occupational safety approaches and new activities for our organization from the view point of system safety. Furthermore, we pick up large capacity lithium-ion battery as one example of important components for our satellite bus system and show our system safety approach.
