A functional approach to modelling arable diversity

This LINK project aims to model, and provide advice on, the strategies formaintaining biodiversity within arable systems whilst maintaining yield. Empiricalapproaches have begun and are being set up to describe the relationship between weeddensity and yield to a high level of precision and accuracy, and to identify functionaltypes of weed and invertebrate species using multivariate analysis on functional traits.An Individual Based Model will represent biodiversity through functional types inorder to predict the probable effects of management changes on ecosystem andbiodiversity.
