Demanding applications such as series production of medical devices or flight-qualified aerospace parts typically require a continuous QA chain with full documentation and traceability; e.g. requirements of ISO 13485:2003 for medical products; Additive manufacturing systems need to fulfill the quality requirements of such applications in order to be successful in RM / e-Manufacturing; For additive manufacturing systems like laser-sintering, which create the final material during the build process, an integrated quality management system is needed covering material, machine, software, process etc. see examples in following slides.
