This document contains a series of exercises to increase a user's familiarity with zPCR and with approaches to use when doing capacity sizings for common processor migration scenarios. Each exercise contains the following information: RMF CPU Activity Report for all LPARs involved in the capacity study; RMF Workload Activity Report for all LPARs involved in the capacity study; Scenario description surrounding the requirement for a zPCR study; Answers to the exercise. The exercises are intended to be done in sequence as they present increasingly more difficult capacity planning scenarios. The expectation is the user of this document has completed the currently available zPCR education which is available at the zPCR Getting Started page. For example, once you define the current configuration for a processor, use the zPCR File->Copy function to copy the results and then paste them into a text file. You will also want to save the configuration at each step. Save the study at the Function Selection panel using the File->Save as option.
