Despite some reduction in the crude price in recent months world energy costs remain high relative to the average over the last 15 years.As the methanol industry is closely related to the energy industry this situation is also having an impact on the cost of feedstock for new methanol production.This will mean that for new projects it is ever more important to select the right technology to efficiently exploit the available feedstock and in some situations adopt new enabling technologies that allow otherwise unattractive feedstock sources to be used.
