Outdoor coatings have been exposed to environmental factors; ultraviolet light, temperature, humidity, etc. and the effect of temperature is focused on. Polymer is thermally weaker than other materials such as steel, stone, etc and thermal stability is important property of polymer properties. Thermal stability is stability against degradation upon exposure to elevated temperatures in an inert or an oxidizing environment. Generally, thermal stability of polymer materials is used to be measured by thermal analysis techniques such as TGA and DSC analysis. However, thermal stability measurement techniques such as TGA and DSC are just about thermal stability of materials. This paper is used another methods to measure and investigate the thermal stability of UV-curable epoxy acrylate coating. Physical properties of cured films after thermal ageing with thermal schedules was measured using by physical properties measurement instrument such as microhardness and rigid-body pendulum type physical properties test instrument (RPT). The objective of this paper is to investigate possibility of microhardness test and RPT test method as thermal properties test methods.
