摘要

In this work, the effect of compressive deformation (pre-deformation), applied in the vicinity of solidus temperature, on the recrystallization behavior at 1000°C and 1100°C was studied in two microalloyed steels; Nb-Ti steel and peritectic V-steel. The steels were melted in-situ and cooled to a temperature where they were subjected to a tensile deformation, with and without pre-deformation. The recrystallization behavior was evaluated using the resultant microstructures and strain hardening characteristic. It was found that the pre-deformation decreased the recrystallization critical strain in the Nb-Ti steel whereas its effect was less significant in the V-steel.
