摘要

A dynamic vacuum calcination method was employed to investigate the effect of atmosphere on the solid-state reactions between rutile TiO_2 and BaCO_3 powders to prepare sub-micron BaTiO_3 particles. The kinetic behavior of the calcination reaction was found to be sensitive to the pressure, nature and composition of the prevailing atmosphere and, in particular, to the availability and ease of removal of CO_2. The results give evidence of differences in reaction pathways by varying the total reaction pressure.
