It is very important in hard anodizing to achieve a good hardness in the material to make sure corrosion will be avoid -R-corrosion and R-waste type-.^sFor this a coat of silanos or polymers should be applied. In hard anodizing the anodic oxidation and the oxide layer that appears - barrier layer- prevents abrasion and corrosion. Thus, a good electrical and thermic isolation is obtained which in turn also avoids abrasion and corrosion. The micrage in hard anodizing because of its micro-hardness and hardness is important for the abrasion and corrosion tests (Taber's index). Working with aluminium alloys families 1000, 2000, 5000, 6000 and so on it is basic as anodizing changes a lot from one family to another and has an influence later on when applying organic coating with silanos and polymers.
