Analysis of Optimizing Running Way of Water Chillers

The operation of refrigerating systems using screw water chillers is optimized from the point of energy consumption. Optimization is made on the basis of annual air conditioning dynamic load and the performance of screw water chillers under partial load. The result of calculation shows that even if air-conditioning load is lower than the rated capacity of two chillers, there still is the possibility that the energy consumption of three chillers is lower than that of two chillers. Energy saving calculated in this paper can reach 10 % by optimizing running way of water chillers. The conclusion is: from the viewpoint of energy saving, operation of screw water chillers should be optimized to reach the highest energy efficiency, but not under the 100 % rated capacity as usual.
