Based on the characteristic that the signals of a direct sequence spread spectral (DSSS) communication system, before being transmitted, will be modulated by a periodical spread spectral pseudo-random sequence, the paper proposes to estimate the spread spectral pseudo-random sequence by chip-delay and eigenvalue analysis. By using the method, we can retrieve the spread spectral pseudo-random sequence of the direct sequence spread spectral signals only based on the one eigenvector corresponding to the maximum eigenvalue of the correlation matrix of the chip-delay-multiply signals, and can find the synchronization position quite easily. The computer simulations show that it can not only achieve the estimation of the spread spectral pseudo-random sequence in the context of low signal to noise ratio, but also does can give the synchronization information in a distinct way. And it is a good method for the blind detection of DSSS signals.
