Stress Concentrations of an Elastic Half Plate with a Circular Hole under a Uniform Pressure Acting Partially on the Straight Edge

This paper deals with a stress concentration problem of an elastic half plate with a circular hole. The half plate is subjected to a uniform pressure acting partially on the straight boundary. A method of solution is presented for the problem by applying Green's functions for body force problems of an elastic half plate. The Green's functions are the Melan's solution for a point force acting in the interior of the half plate. Stress distributions around the hole are investigated.
