Ensuring the Quality of Your Measurement Data: Four Question Everyone Should Ask Themselves

Millions of measurements are made every day in this country, ranging from the very simple to the extremely complex. Unfortunately, many of the people making the measurements do not obtain valid results because they make assumptions about their measurement capability that does not reflect the actual situation. This paper will present four simple questions that, when truthfully answered, will allow anyone to confirm their measurement assumptions and capabilities and ensure that they achieve good, reliable data from those measurements.
