This study, in 2003, investigated whether wind direction affects the direction of the flights of three hymenopterous parasitoids of the pests of oilseed rape toward the crop in the spring. The parasitoids were: Tersilochus obscurator (Ichneumonidae),a larval endoparasitoid of cabbage stem weevil (Ceutorhynchus pallidactylus); Phradis interstitialis (Ichneumonidae), which oviposits into the eggs and first-instar larvae of pollen beetle (Meligethes aeneus); and Platygaster subuliformis (Platygastridae), which oviposits into the eggs of brassica pod midge (Dasineura brassicae).
