EPA expects significant reductions in mercury in the Steubenville area: Without CAIR and CAMR, mercury emissions would have been 14.5 t/yr in that area in 2010. With CAIR and CAMR, EPA projects they will be 4.92 t/yr in 2010; 4.25 t/yr in 2015; 4.07 t/yr in 2020; EPA projects that there will be a significant amount of control technology put on units in that area. Without CAIR and CAMR, EPA projects there would have been 20.8 gigawatts (GWs) of scrubbers and no ACI. With CAIR and CAMR, EPA projects there will be 45.3 GWs of scrubbers and 528 MWs of ACI in 2010; 55.4 GWs of scrubbers and 726 MWs of ACI in 2015; 56.1 GWs of scrubbers and 761 MWs of ACI in 2020.
