Energy conservation has become a major element in controlling operating cost of any industrial facility. Pulp & paper industry is one of the most energy-intensive manufacturing sectors. This paper renders new opportunity for aggressive waste energy recovery in pulp & paper industry through the application of real-time energy integration. Targeting as a feasibility check for real-time energy integration application impact on plant energy consumption is conducted using TEM_icons software. The paper shows that real- time energy integration application in pulp& paper plants for the sake of energy savings is justified and can result in about 8% savings in the hot utility consumption of a typical pulp& paper plant.
