A useful rehabilitation method for improving the shear resistance of reinforced concrete wall-frame structures by using carbon-fiber reinforced polymer (CF) grids was proposed with loading tests. The test results showed 1) covering with CF-grids and mortar increased the maximum shear strength and the deform-ability, 2) jacketing with steel plates only at the four corners of the RC wall in addition to the covering exhibited the best shear strength and deformability, and 3) the shear capacity of the strengthened structures could be estimated by modifying some previous formulas that predicted them.
