摘要

Understanding of the heat effects associated with the first-order phase transition in MnFe(P,As) compounds is important for the analysis of the magnetocaloric effects observed in this system. In this study, we report a specific-heat study on the MnFeP{sub}0.45As{sub}0.55 compound, with special emphasis on the behavior near the phase transition temperature. For comparison of the transition temperature and the magnetic-entropy change, ac susceptibility and dc magnetization measurements were made on the same sample.
