Switched reluctance (SR) motors have many advantages such as simple and solid construction, low cost on manufacturing, high reliability in high temperature, and large torque density. So, these features are suitable for electric vehicles[1]. However, the higher torque ripple from magnetic saliency is a serious problem to start of the electric vehicles. In the paper, we propose a new method to reduce torque ripple using freewheeling mode for electric vehicles.
