The Multi-Lance QuiK-Spec probe for inblow application was developed a few years ago. Main purpose: to provide a fast and reliable analysis of the most critical elements such as Carbon, Phosphorus, and Manganese in one minute after the sublance reached its home position. On request of our customers the MultiLance QuiK-Spec is enhanced with an oxygen sensor function. A new endblow QuiK-Spec sample was developed with no preparation needed and ready for a direct spark. QuiK-Lab is a robot-controlled spectro-analyzer designed for the converter shop floor. In order to provide accurate endblow analysis a new high end OES analyzer is built in. This successor is called QuiK-Lab II. This new QuiK-Spec sensor and QuiK-Lab II was developed in close cooperation with a major steelplant in Europe. Since 2016 this steelplant uses full-time inblow and endblow QuiK-Spec probes to obtain fast converter sample analysis and to have a better control of their process. Both converters are equipped with QuiK-Lab II and dedicated QuiK-Spec monitoring hardware.The QuiK-Spec sublance hardware is compatible with existing sublance sensor technology. This paper will discuss the results obtained, as well time performance, analytical performance, and success rates of the new QuiK-Spec Multi- Lances.
