ArcelorMittal Industeel in Belgium - The World's Thickest (355 mm) Austenitic Stainless Steel Slab Ever Cast

In this article are described all the phases of the challenging task assigned to Danieli in April 2014. Scope of the project was revamping the single-strand slab caster on a turnkey basis. Critical point was the compressed shutdown period of four weeks, including the entire schedule for dismounting, erection and commissioning.Danieli, in close cooperation with the ArcelorMittal Industeel project team, completed all the activities including design, manufacturing, dismantling of old equipment, installation and commissioning of the revamped machine in only 17 months.
