Since the gear transmission system of wind turbine works with varying load resulted from stochastic wind speed, An Auto-Regressive (AR) method is applied to character the wind speed of wind field and, then, obtain the time-varying wind load. The gear transmission's pure torsional model is established with lumped-parameter method. The natural frequencies and corresponding mode shapes of the transmission system are analyzed. The dynamic characteristics of the transmission system with time-varying wind load and internal excitation are studied. The displacements, speeds and meshing forces of the gear transmission system are investigated.
