APPLICATION AND PRACTICE OF COMPOSITE PILE FOUNDATION IN FOUNDATION REINFORCEMENT

Foundation reinforcement method is hard to satisfy both the economical and the safety requirement. This paper presents the new foundation reinforcement method, Composite Pile Foundation (CPF) , which has been successfully employed in hundreds of building in soft soil region in China. The kernel theory and design pattern of CPF is introduced and the fundamental conception of Plastically Supporting Pile (PSP) is described. And in the case study, the application of CPF theory in foundation reinforcement is illustrated. The analyzed results show that the reinforced foundation has been successfully converted from pile foundation to the CPF. The whole stiffness of the foundation structure is dramatically improved and the differential settlement is reduced obviously.
