摘要

The overall objective of this study is to improve our current understanding regarding the influence of abrasive powder mixed in the dielectric fluid on Abrasive Electrical Discharge Machining (AEDM), of cast Aluminium Metal Matrix Composites (AMMcs). This paper presents details of an experimental investigation carried out on Al/Al{sub}2O{sub}(3p)-20% using AEDM Process with addition of SiC abrasive powder in dielectric with copper tool electrode. The experimental runs were based on an orthogonal array, and results analyzed using Lenths Method. The machinability of AEDM in terms of the material removal rate and surface roughness are evaluated in this paper.
