RADIO-ANALYSES IN PRODUCTION OF CEMENT

Naturally occurring radio-nuclides of terrestrial origin are present in various degrees in all media in the environment. This work focuses on the importance of building and to radio-analyze raw materials involved in the production process of cements. The paper reports, firstly, radioactivity levels in some cements, taking into account the components from which they originated. As a specific case, it will note radio-nuclides concentration, in different phases of the process, making a comparison with standard emissions, recommended by the European Commission in guidance "Radiation Protection 112" and with hazard risk analysis. This method underlines a new interest in searching for and choosing, at start up phases of the construction process, raw materials with low radioactivity parameters, which would grant low emission final products.
