DOE plan to acquire special freight cars to transport nuclear spent fuels to Nevada repository

摘要

The objective of the paper is to inform the conference of the Department of Energy's program to transport nuclear spent fuel (SNF) to a repository in Nevada. Information about the opening of operations, the freight cars expected to haul SNF, the special requirements of the AAR Standard S-2043 and the procurement plans are detailed.
