摘要

The paper presents the analysis of the developed and suggested measures and methods of decreasing soil contamination in the Republic of Belarus, and prevention of long-lived ~(137)Cs and ~(90)Sr radionuclides migration in food chains. It was found that the application of preventive measures based on a principle on decreasing ~(137)Cs and ~(90)Sr mobility in soil due, to their fixation in soil-absorbing complex, or so-called rehabilitation, is the more effective, ecologically safe and, it seems, the most perspective countermeasure in Belarus at present. The possibility of applying freshwater lake sediments, industrial waste for rehabilitation of the contaminated soils and prevention of accumulation of ~(137)Cs and ~(90)Sr radionuclides in agricultural production in Belarus is discussed.
