A visualization technique was developed for investigating behavior of liquid in containers subjected to impact loads due to dropping. Several particles of about 3mm in diameter made of polyethylene were included in liquid to visualize movement of liquid in containers. The specific gravity of the particles is the same as that of liquid. The containers were made of transparent plastic plates. To confirm the ability of the visualization technique, several containers containing liquid with polyethylene particles were subjected to impact due to dropping, and photographs of the containers were taken using a high speed camera. Results indicated that the visualization technique is effective to observe movement of liquid in the containers.
