RESOURCE SHARING AMONG HEALTH SCIENCES LIBRARIES IN PAKISTAN: PROBLEMS PROSPECTS

The health sciences libraries are generally categorized as hospital libraries, teaching hospital libraries, academic medical college or university libraries and biomedical research organization libraries. It is a well-known fact that no library can entirely rely upon its in-house collections and services for providing complete coverage of its related specialty literature to its users. Health sciences libraries do not need to remain isolated islands of excellence, rather they must be proficient clearing houses of information for the purpose of collection, management and dissemination of health information.
