Electroless Nickel Plating Combined with Micro-arc Oxidization on Magnesium Alloy

Optimal pretreatment conditions of electroless nickel plating after micro-arc oxidization on magnesium alloy were decided by many experiments. We don't need chemical roughen treatment because it can corrode the micro-arc oxidation film. Micro-arc oxidization coating and magnesium alloy are well-knit and the Ni-P coating tightly connect with micro-arc oxidation coating. Electroless nickel plating deposited on the micro-arc oxidation film enhances the corrosion resistance and improves the hardness, which provides a good protection for the magnesium alloy.
