Micro/nanofibers with hollow structure and large specific surface area were urgently needed in many technical situations, such as microfluidics, hydrogen storage, and biological or medical applications. Based on the coaxial electrospinning, a novel approach to prepare hollow carbon micro/nanofiber was presented. In our study, DMF solution of PAN served as outer liquid, and PVP solution with the same solvent was chosen for inner liquid. A series of post treatments were put on the core/sheath fibers gained from coaxial electrospinning, then the core component PVP was removed and hollow carbon nanofibers were gained. To understand morphology control, the effect of polymer solution characteristic and processing parameters had been evaluated.
