Following the creation of Engineers Without Borders (EWB) in 2002, many universities and professionals have established EWB chapters to broaden their learning experience by participating in global projects of developing communities1. Similar to this effort, a two-semester multi-disciplinary course in the College of Engineering and Technology was established in 2007 at Brigham Young University to engage students from engineering and technology programs in the design and implementation of projects for developing communities in a global setting. The three-credit hour Global Engineering Outreach (GEO) course has involved over 200 students throughout the years with projects implemented in Tonga, Ghana, and Peru.
