The goal of the article is comparing different kinds of space time processing: non adaptive MTD [1 -3] and adaptive (AMTD) systems for Air Traffic Control Radar (ATCR). In a report are presented results of comparing non adaptive MTD and AMTD systems. In experiments were used signals, which were written from output of a phase detector of two different coherent ATCR. Analysis of testing showed that adaptive system does not provide desirable results of suppression signals, reflected from underlying surface and local objects in near zone. Main reasons are non stationarity of clutter on azimuth, on range and also high level of the reflected signals that excess level over internal noise at 80 - 120 dB. One of possible solution of a problem of suppression power non stationary clutter is using a combination non adaptive MTD and adaptive MTD.
