Development of the ultra low SAPS heavy duty diesel engine oil

For environmental reasons, pressure on exhaust gas emissions from vehicles has increased. Strict emission legislation has, therefore, been introduced in the United States (US '07 (US '10)), Europe (Euro 5) and Japan (Japanese New Long Term regulation). To meet these latest emission regulations for heavy duty diesel engines, it is necessary to reduce Particulate Matter (PM) and Nitrogen Oxides (NO_x) significantly and in most cases this has led to the need to use exhaust gas after-treatment devices such as Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF).
