Effect of Surface-Rolling on Surface Durability of High Density Sintered Metal Rollers

This paper describes the effects of the surface-rolling on the surface durability of high density sintered metal rollers. The effects of surface-rolling on surface properties were examined by measuring porosities and hardness near the surfaces of test rollers. The surface durability of surface-rolled high density sintered metal rollers was determined by carrying out the contact fatigue test, and these results were compared with the results for wrought steel rollers.
