There has been increased demand for high integrity die-casting technology in aluminum industry. While high vacuum, semi-solid and pore-free die-casting processes are expensive and have difficulty in process control, controlled filling super slow shot die-casting (less than 0.1m/sec of shot speed)process minimizes the turbulence in shot sleeve and cavity which results in less gas porosity defects in the structure. Therefore, in this study, slow shot conditions were tested and the filling patterns and resultant structure were analyzed.
