The high temperature superconductors have been developed in order to use for various industrial applications such as high field magnets and cables. In particular, multi-filamentary Bi_2Sr_2Ca_1Cu_2O_(8+x)(Bi2212) superconductor composites wires have the advantages of high critical current density and long length manufacturing. In this study, the intrinsic fracture strain and residual strain of Bi2212 filament in the composite wire were investigated experimentally and analytically. The residual strain of Bi2212 filaments in the composite at room temperature was measured by X ray diffraction method at Spring8. Tensile test was carried out at room temperature. From the analysis of the stress-strain curve in combination with the residual strain, the intrinsic fracture strain was estimated.
