Oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) ferritic steels, made by mechanical alloying (MA) processing, have been considered as one of the most attractive candidates for cladding materials of advanced power plants. In order to make clear the resolution/precipitation behavior of Y_2O_3 in mechanically alloyed powders, a lot of research has been conducted by using TEM, XRD, and SAXS, but the details have not been obviously cleared yet. In this study, using a positron CDB spectroscopy, the state of Y_2O_3 in Fe based powders was investigated before and after MA. Also, the re-precipitation behavior of the oxides in mechanically alloyed powders was investigated after post MA heat treatment.
