Successful spin injection and detection have been of great importance for spintroincs where electron spin is a subject of manipulation to create new functionality of electronic devices. A lot of works have focused on spin injection into semiconductors, but the results to date are not quite satisfactory largely owing to the conductivity mismatch. On the other hand, spin injection into a metal has been actively studied in the nano-scale spin valve devices, and successful spin injections have been demonstrated. The successful spin injection in metallic systems can be attributed to the fact that the interface resistance is under the control of the surface treatment. In the work, we demonstrate high spin injection polarization in all metal Py/Au/Py spin devices. The observed spin injection polarization is compared with that predicted by the common conductance mismatch model.
