摘要

Two Exploration Blocks are located in the Salin sub-basin of the Central Myanmar Basin.The basin has a proven petroleum system with oil and gas discoveries in and around the study area and,in addition, numerous oil seeps are known to occur.Nevertheless,dry wells have been drilled in the blocks since exploration activities started in 1905,demonstrating that uncertainty for commercial accumulation of hydrocarbon is present and exploration success is not guaranteed.To address the geological uncertainty during predrill exploration,surface geochemistry has been carried out across the study area to identify likely subsurface accumulations.The surface geochemistry study approach study utilized a passive adsorption technique AGI,Amplified Geochemical Imaging SM .This AGI technology application by PETRONAS Carigali Myanmar Inc.(PCMI)represents the first application of this technology in the Central Myanmar Basin.
