The need to remove small amounts of water from oil is of significance in many stages of oil processing as well as other industrial processes. This program introduces an in-line membrane/vacuum system to remove water from oil. The chemically inert membrane withstands harsh thermal and chemical BHF environment. Since membranes are in-line they remove water in real time. We demonstrated rapid 85% removal of water from oil and showed this water removal dramatically reduced deleterious acid formation. System showed excellent stability.
