Enabling Offshore Production with Microchannel Process Technology Systems

Velocys Technology will enable monetizing natural gas by the production of methanol or middle distillates on a floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) facility. The challenges of offshore chemical production are two-fold: (1) size, weight, and motion sensitivity of facilities capable of converting the gas to liquid product; and (2) high capital cost of such facilities. The technology presented herein addresses both of these key hurdles by greatly reducing the size of the process equipment, and accommodating co production of oil and natural gas derived, liquid products on a single FPSO.
