Based on QRA of a typical LNG re-gasification facility, this paper will present the main contributors and their relative importance for 3~(rd) party risk. This risk will be based on the frequency for different releases and their hazard zones from the main components in the facility. The hazard ranges can be assessed by different software tools/methods. Which consequence modeling tools to be applied is dependant on how good simpler tools are able to correctly simulate the cases in question and if the specific case is judged to qualify for advanced consequence modeling. A CFD dispersion and fire/smoke simulation tool will be presented as an advanced option for consequence assessments. The LNG industry has a good safety record and the number of LNG facilities is relatively low. From this, the historical accident statistic for LNG specific service is scarce. This paper will present the applied failure frequencies and discuss the quality of these frequencies.
