With emphasis on the current trends to process intensification, some guidelines are appropriate for practical methods of accomplishing this on all different sizes of tanks. This relates to practical ways of keeping the fluid in the tank for open tanks and also for power levels that are appropriate for closed thanks. Examples will be given on current installations and projections made for future work and requirements for even more intense mixing in process design.
