Surface Related Effects in Bearing Life Prediction

摘要

This paper shows a methodology for bearing life rating calculation that separates explicitly the surface from the subsurface. In this way the surface risk factors can be modeled in a separate way allowing the use of advanced tribological models, whilst the subsurface can be modelled by using traditional Hertzian rolling contact fatigue. The mathematical model is presented and some results showing the behavior of the model will be discussed.
