Platelet SrTiO_3 particles, which have cubic perovskite structure, were synthesized from Bi-layer structured particles by topochemical micro-crystal comversion (TMC) method. The Bi-layer structured crystal particles were perfectly converted to perovskite structured SrTiO_3 particles in a molten-salt flux at 950 deg C. The SrTiO_3 particle had a shape with a width of 10 micro-meters and an aspect ratio of 10. This particles enabled a <001> grain-oriented SrTiO_3 ceramics with an orientation factor up to 97 percent by a templated grain growth (TGG) technique. This results suggests that the combination of TMC-TGG method is very usefull technique to fabricate the highly grain-oriented ceramics.
