The torpedo warfare simulation system includes multi weapon entities and should be meet the requirement of multiple counterwork patterns. Therefore, High Level Architecture (HLA) was adopted to build a reconfigurable and extensible torpedo warfare simulation environment. The key techniques such as FOM/SOM design, federate framework design, RTI components encapsulation were researched. The software reuse technology was adopted in developing the federation system. A general layered application framework that involved such three layers as simulation application, reusable components and RTI was designed. By separating the realm basic numerical algorithms from RTI components, the system extensibility and reusability are improved. Lastly, taken an underwater confronting process between two submarines as a typical instance, the system integration and application was implemented. The simulation results show that the simulation system achieves the design goal is of value for engineering application.
