摘要

This article describes a novel approach that is based on Threshold Area Erasion Algorithm on two colors background to the semi-automatic contour extraction of ultrasound images. The operator should provide a threshold exactly at the beginning, then the algorithm developed in this article can find out all cavities whose areas are less than given threshold and erase them. Consequently, the problems can be solved well that it is difficult to extract single pixel contour because of speckles and noise of B model ultrasound images. Meanwhile, the scheme of contour extraction for atria images is discussed based on this algorithm.
