In July 2003 in Pasadena, CNES presented its low-cost command control ground segment and the associated operational concept for mini (Proteus) and micro (Myriade) satellites product lines. In those times only the mini satellite JASON1 was on orbit, and its ground segment was still single-mission built. In June 2005, a multi-missions ground segment had recently entered its operational phase with 6 micro satellites (Demeter, Parasol and the Essaim constellation); a first feedback was presented at the previous RCSGSO in Darmstadt. During year 2006, the same operational teams have welcomed a second (Calipso) and a third (Corot) minisatellites without significant increase of resources. Furthermore, two other Proteus satellites, JASON2 and SMOS, are foreseen in 2008, as well as six more micro satellites in 2009/2010: Picard, Microscope and the Elisa constellation. At last, we have to consider now that Proteus and Myriade are very dependable satellites that exceed their specified lifetime: The MOU between NASA and CNES for Jason 1 exploitation has been extended by 5 years Demeter and Parasol mission durations have been extended by 2 more years NASA and CNES currently study a Calipso mission extension... We will present here both the feedback CNES has got through this very lively five years period of time and the work in progress for the coming years - in order to cope with the excellent behaviour of the missions and consequently the unforeseen oversize of the constellation.
